I remember, as a child in primary school, refusing to eat any vegetables and hating all forms of exercise. I was a very thin kid. My father wanted me to go for swimming lessons and I joined a class… BUT!!!! Yes, I had no inherent commitment to go swimming, whether every day or for weekly lessons.
I loved cola and unhealthy snacks (as do most children that age). When I was about 11 years old, I got allergies that flared up with changes in the weather. Life, during this period, was not easy, and this cycle of allergy flare-ups persisted until I completed my university degree.
2008, I started practicing yoga, meditation. My lifestyle and eating habits gradually started to change, becoming healthier, as I also started learning about nutrition.
Besides swimming at the beach every week on my day off, I rode my bicycle the distance to the beach and back every morning. It was difficult at first, but I soon saw the benefits, feeling stronger and healthier.
2013, I started CrossFit training. I keep the balance between yoga and CrossFit which actually support each other very well, learning the new diet and healthy habits.
My work and life experience led to me taking a Yoga Teacher Training Course in 2014 and another one in 2016 in order to gain a deeper understanding of yoga and also to enable me to share my knowledge, and experience, with others. Detox Specialist and Nutritional Therapy Courses were taken not long after.
I don’t stop here, keep learning and developing myself become my to-do things each day.
My personal journey has been from that of an unhealthy and sickly child to that of a strong, positive woman. My life experience has led me forward on my journey, and I wish to inspire others to also live a happy, healthy and fulfilled life.
