What I’m Doing Now
I just came back from a three month trip in Turkey and now stay in an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. A full blog will come later as to how I left my stringent country, visa run issue, leaving Turkey, and of course, plant-based food options.
What I’m focusing on during the quarantine period is to keep myself busy. My partner helped me create a full to-do list such as work, study, mental and physical exercise, reading, relaxing time, and so on.
Here is the reason I have to keep myself on track.
Ten days ago, my youngest sister had passed away from her chronic illness, SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), i.e., an autoimmune disease. SLE can be mild to life-threatening; not everyone dies, I believe. In her case, what led to death was brain bleeding.
It had been tough for me to maintain life. I managed the funeral from half of the world, attended the ceremony through a video call. The last two days of the funeral are on hold until I departed quarantine state.
Meditation is a must of my daily routine. To make sure that I will be able to cope with reality and do my best as the oldest sister.
I am grateful that I had practice death meditation many years ago, followed by reading several books related to Tibetan Buddhism, such as ‘Tibetan book of the death,’ Tibetan book of living and dying,’ and ‘Enlightened Journey.’ The books made me aware of the nature of life.
This journal is a part of my to-do list during the quarantine and healing period.
